John Kemppainen is a partner in the firm's Civil Litigation Section with over seventeen (17) years of courtroom experience. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and practices in the areas of Civil and Commercial Litigation. He has tried cases in circuit courts across the state of Missouri and has argued before both the Missouri State and Federal Appellate Courts. Mr. Kemppainen has defended catastrophic injury, wrongful death and class action cases, including window blind products liability defense. He defends retailers, restaurants, department stores, trucking companies, insurance carriers, corporations, school districts, government agencies and municipalities, and individuals in all types of civil matters.

Mr. Kemppainen serves on the Admiralty and Aviation Law Committee for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Transportation Law Committee of the Missouri Bar and the Ethics & Professionalism Committee for the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Council on Litigation Management and the National Retail & Restaurant Defense Assn. Mr. Kemppainen is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois and registered to practice in the Federal and Appellate Courts in the area. Mr. Kemppainen is also licensed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Mr. Kemppainen enjoys golf, tennis, mountain biking, kayaking, and spending time with his family.
